Centrifugal Switch: The centrifugal switch is a mechanical switch mounted on the motor's shaft, usually close to the rotor. It consists of two stationary contacts and a rotating cam or weights. During startup, the centrifugal switch is closed, allowing current to flow through the starting winding and the capacitor. Steady-State Operation: Once the motor reaches its operating speed, it continues to run using the rotating magnetic field generated by the main winding. The starting winding and capacitor are no longer needed, and they remain disconnected due to the open centrifugal switch.
